Teaching has always been a passion of mine. I have a great deal of patience and have experience with techniques that makes the learning process more engaging for all students. I feel that being creative in the classroom can be more effective for students. In fact, it is vital in the learning process and helps give these students the ability to be competitive in the educational system. I teach multi-sensory lessons to met the needs of auditory, visual, tactile, and kinestetic learners. I also incorporate various forms of technology, learning centers, manipulatives, group work, and thematic units to teach new material and concepts.
The most important lesson that I have learned throughout my teaching experiences is that every group of students, and every student within that group, has the same basic needs but different abilities; therefore diverse avenues for success. My job as a teacher is to help students find ways they can be successful and hone their skills so lifelong learning is possible. I have a strong passion to educate young minds and help them blossom into well rounded, responsible, and successful individuals. Throughout the course of my career, I have had opportunities to teach diverse groups of students, including those with learning, intellectual, and emotional behavioral disabilities, those who perform at grade level, and those who were gifted exceptional. These experiences helped enhance my knowledge, creativity, leadership, teamwork, behavior management, and time-management skills. |
